My second painting with ArtRage; starting to have a little more control. This is the Japanese sun goddess Amaterasu, who shut herself in a cave when her brother Susano-O went on a rampage.

Wow. That’s gorgeous. And a fascinating way of showing the solar aspect — usually you see a fuzzy nimbus or a full disc; I like the handful of beams instead.

Thanks! I mean, really that’s as far as my concept went, the rest was just playing with paint.

Hi: May I use your beautiful Amaterasu for a blog post I’m working on regarding the Sun Goddess’s story? Thank you. Carol
